Positive Expectations Academy

A Specialized Private School

Positive Expectations Academy (PEA) is a specialized private school for children diagnosed with emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities who are experiencing educational difficulty in a general classroom setting. PEA provides individualized education programs designed to help these children reach their full potential.

Our school provides a positive, supportive and structured classroom environment with a low student-teacher ratio. Each child is admitted on a case-by-case basis, once we establish that the child would be best served by our special environment.

Academic Program

At Positive Expectations Academy, our focus is not on our student’s disabilities but on their abilities. Our staff members coach each student to perform his or her best. Upon admission, we assess each child to determine the appropriate education level and requirements.

Our research-based curriculum is designed to remediate and develop reading and math skills. By offering individualized as well as group instruction in a low student-teacher-ratio setting, we are able to customize the curriculum to meet each child’s needs.

Behavior Coaching

Each child is taught clearly defined rules and expectations for behavior, academic performance and productivity. Students use an individualized point sheet throughout the day. Points are earned for demonstrating specific behavioral and academic skills. This daily point sheet goes home with your child every evening.

At Positive Expectations Academy, there is no guessing about how your child is performing academically or behaviorally. We work with families to structure an individual education program that meets each child’s special needs.

We strive to provide a safe, caring environment that encourages self-expression and independent problem-solving.

Tuition and Financial Aid
