Frequently Asked Questions

Does Positive Expectations Academy follow the public school year calendar?

We follow the same school year calendar as the St. Lucie County Public Schools, and we close for the same holidays. However, we have an Extended Care Program that offers care during some of the school holidays. Please see the Calendar and check with our Admissions office (772-466-0051) for availability and cost of extended care.

Does Positive Expectations Academy have a dress code or require uniforms?

We do not require uniforms, but we do expect each child to be dressed in clean, well-fitting shorts or pants, and polo shirts or tee shirts. There are to be no inappropriate words or pictures on the clothing, and no over-sized or baggy clothing. Belts are required if pants fall below the waist. Shoes must be closed-toe loafer or tennis style with laces tied.

Does Positive Expectations Academy have an after-school tutoring program?

We offer individualized tutoring, but there is an additional charge for this service. Please check with our  Admissions office (772-466-0051) for availability and cost.

Is after-school tutoring available for students who do not attend Positive Expectations Academy?

Individualized tutoring is available for any student who qualifies for our services. If your child has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) at the public school, he or she will be transported to our facility by St. Lucie County School Transportation.

Does Positive Expectations Academy have an after-school care program?

Children who attend the academy are eligible for the C.A.T.C.H. After School program, which starts after school and runs until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Children who attend school in St. Lucie County Public Schools Zone 1, 2 or 3 are also eligible to attend this program.
