Every child deserves a chance to learn, grow and change
In the average public school classroom, at least three children struggle with severe emotional or behavioral problems that make it hard for them to learn, hard for their teachers to teach, and hard for their parents to cope.
These children can be difficult. They can be disruptive. But they cannot be ignored. And yet, only one in three receive specialized services for their diagnoses.
At the Daniel M. Center for Behavioral Change, we believe every child matters. We provide the services children and families need to learn, grow and change.
Individualized Education and Specialized Care
At the Positive Expectations Academy, we offer a research-based, pre-K through 6th grade curriculum that is customized for each child, with staff that includes teachers certified in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and Behavior Analysis. Our low student-teacher ratio gives children the individualized attention they need to learn.
At Camp Holiday, we offer Saturday respite care to give parents a much-needed break from the sometimes chaotic environment surrounding children with emotional and behavioral disorders. We also offer after-school care, extended care and summer camp programs staffed by behavior specialists.
Because It Matters
The Daniel M. Center for Behavioral Change was founded in 1999 by parents, for parents. To date, we have served more than 700 families on the Treasure Coast. We are inspired by our children, who need more help than other children. Because every child matters.
If you have a child who needs more help than public schools can offer, please contact us today.
To enhance the quality of life for children and families struggling with emotional and behavioral health needs.
The Daniel M. Center for Behavioral Change provides respite relief for families of children with emotional, behavioral and mental health issues. Respite revitalizes the spirit and rests the soul. The center provides a safe, nurturing and fun environment that benefits the whole family.
We provide a pathway for family advocacy, support, information, education and resources.
To become a national model for the education and care of children with mental health issues.
The Daniel M. Center for Behavioral Change will be a model, family-focused organization dedicated to supporting families of children with emotional, behavioral and mental health issues. Our services will provide the necessary tools families need to enhance their lives, support the development of their children, foster the preservation of the family, and prevent child abuse and neglect.
Our facility will be the preferred place for families to receive respite, and for their children to receive individualized education and specialized care. The positive, supportive and structured environment will allow families to continue to care for their children in their homes and keep these children in the community.
We are continually increasing the awareness of family needs in the community and developing community support to meet those needs.
